Business training is regarded as important, especially for popular musicians. 
We have invited two persons to contribute to this page. Meanwhile, the following 
websites may be useful:

&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Innovation and Business Skills Australia (&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.ibsa.org.au/content/cultural/index.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;IBSA&lt;/a&gt;) is one of ten Industries Skills Councils for the 
	Vocational Education and Training (VET) system recognised and funded by the 
	Australian Government. One of its training areas is in cultural and related 
	industries. Three of the five training packages in that area are partly or 
	fully relevant for the music sector (the others are museums and 
	library/information services and visual art, craft and design): 
	&lt;ul&gt;
		&lt;li&gt;Entertainment, 
		&lt;/li&gt;
		&lt;li&gt;Film, TV, radio and multimedia, and 
		&lt;/li&gt;
		&lt;li&gt;Music. &lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;/ul&gt;
	&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;The State music associations, which focus on promoting contemporary music, 
	also have a significant interest in business and related training of musicians. 
	This is particularly evident from the website of the West Australian Music 
	Industry Association (&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.wam.asn.au/&quot;&gt;WAM&lt;/a&gt;), whose executive 
	director also heads the national Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN). WAM 
	features a &amp;lsquo;resource room&amp;rsquo; web page including &lt;i&gt;Notes for young players 
	&lt;/i&gt;with sections on playing live, managing, selling, and recording and 
	publishing. 
	&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;While there are other relevant websites to explore, this note is not 
	intended to be comprehensive but is written in anticipation of the invited 
	contributions. 
	&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Importantly, however, the training and support of Indigenous musicians 
	should be a special subject. Some relevant sources may be found on the 
	&lt;i&gt;Indigenous performers &lt;/i&gt;page. Another initiative, taken by the State 
	music association MusicNSW, is the &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.musicnsw.com/projects/whichway.php&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;&lt;i&gt;Whichway&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/a&gt; Indigenous music development program, which 
	has a strong training component centred on intensive industry workshops. Two 
	members of staff are associated with the program. WAM employs a full-time 
	Indigenous music officer (the extension to full time was made possible by a 
	three-year grant from Arts WA in 2005). &lt;/li&gt;
