MPFL will add a collaborators section to the website which will include ideas and updates on initiatives that collaborators have undertaken |
| Individuals can register as campaign supporters | You will receive a bimonthly e-newsletter on music projects, the latest efforts in advocacy and government relations and more. |
| Collaborator organisations can either on-send the regular e-bulletin to their individual members and/or encourage members to register as individuals | We can send out an issue of the e-bulletin to your membership if you are able to provide us with an email list. (We understand that there may be privacy issues that need to be addressed) |
| Arrange for reciprocal website links between the MPFL site and your own | We can link to your website
as a collaborator organisation.
The MPFL site will include information to assist people who are looking for a music teacher, or for a music group with which to perform, or a music camp to attend, or for music groups to come to perform in your school. The lists can include links to your sites where appropriate. |
| Adopt the Music. Play
for Life logo in your own promotion, whether you are an organisation,
a live performer, a recording artist, a teacher... By adopting the logo,
you will be promoting music making and thus broadening the music market
and creating new opportunities for the profession and the public. |
The logo can be downloaded from the MPFL site if you first register with us. |
| Inform us about new and innovative projects, campaign activities etc. | We will on a regular basis publish such information on the website and in the e-bulletins. |
| Send us photographs of Australians making music, or of music activities that in some way express the purposes of the MPFL campaign. | We will select visual images for display on the website. In some cases they may be suitable for use by other campaigners and with your permission, we will allow such people to download them for use in their promotional activities. |
| Organise meetings and promotional activities for MPFL at your local, regional and State level to spread the word or to bring about more government support. Identify opportunities at conferences, festivals or events where MPFL can be paced on the agenda or be incorporated into promotional material. | MPFL directorate can provide support and advice. |
| Organise advocacy workshops to develop advocacy skills or promotional plans to advance MPFL objectives. | MPFL directorate can provide people to assist in presenting the workshops |
| Assist in identifying campaign patrons | The campaign needs people with a strong standing and profile – whether musicians, business people, professionals etc – who are prepared to become public faces of the campaign. |
| Publish MPFL stories in your newsletter | MPFL can write them for you. |
| Use or share with MPFL your media contacts to assist in gaining media coverage of the campaign | We can write stories, find people to give interviews, provide visuals, provide information tailored to specific audiences. |
| If you are a media organisation, facilitate media coverage for MPFL activities. Such coverage could include community service announcements, articles, broadcasts, news reports, interviews etc | Whatever the content, MPFL can assist with information, contacts, sound, visuals… |
| Donate funds or in-kind assistance. MPFL has good basic funding due to the generosity of the Australian Music Association and its members. However, we are trying to make a significant difference nationally and that’s a big ask. We need more resources. | Donations to MPFL are tax-deductible.
Corporate sponsorships: MPFL can give good national exposure in return for corporate support. We are committed to ensuring that sponsorships are mutually beneficial. MPFL itself is a promotional campaign. Its purpose is to reach and persuade. It is a natural for sponsorship. |
| Assist in adding to or updating the MPFL contact and information lists on the website. | MPFL aims to have a database which we are trying to make a one stop reference point so let us know what we can add. |
| Make music yourself, if you are not already doing so. | On the MPFL website, you can look for music teachers, music groups to play with. |
| Schools advocacy kit. It’s on the MPFL website in the Schools section. Collaborators can use the kit, or let teachers, parents, etc know about the it. The kit provides effective strategies and ideas for teachers, parents and principals in arguing for school music education programs. | If you first register with us, you can download the kit from the MPFL site, free of charge. It will be developed further as we discover from you what works and what doesn’t work. |
| Persuade your P&C
to argue for a better music program in the school your children
attend. |
The Schools Advocacy Tool Kit on the MPFL site has a wealth of information. |
| Give some personal support to the music teacher(s) in your children’s school. | See above. |

| Engage other community
organisations, local communities and governments To spread the MPFL campaign we need to engage people at the local level who are not directly involved in the music sector. Music making provides a wide range of personal and community benefits. |
MPFL has a range of research, materials and case studies which show the benefits of music in a range of contexts. We would also like to receive information and case studies both locally and overseas that you may be aware of which can provide us with more evidence of the case for more music making. |
