Vox Novus is calling for one-minute pieces composed for Fifteen Minutes of Fame: Juan Maria Solare, piano, to be performed at the July 17, 2012 Lunch Concert at the University of Bremen (Germany) The one-minute tangos for piano are to be written specifically for this project, which will be performed by Juan Maria Solare, a recognized pianist of both tango argentino and new music. All works must be 60 seconds or less.

You couldn't have stage managed it better. Just as the audience was lulled into a meditative state by shakuhachi grandmaster Riley Lee's haunting flute playing, the ducks that had been circling high over head suddenly landed on the lake with a flutter of wing tips in water.

Due to the “Rules of Procedure for the Organisation of the ISCM World Music Days Festival”, submissions should be official (by ISCM Members) or individual. Only one work per composer may be submitted for a given ISCM-WMD Festival, whether through official or individual submissions. Categories No. 6 and 16 are excluded from such limitations. That means that a composer whose compositions were submitted as an official or individual entry in one of the other categories, could additionally submit entries in categories No. 6 or 16 as an individual entry (the entry fee is obligatory for each additional entry in such categories).

The criteria for the selections are based on innovation, imagination and originality with preference for scores that have not been premiered. A non-refundable registration/processing fee of $25 per composition must accompany all submissions.
